Below are the picks I have for UFC 146. What an exciting week to be a Heavyweight. It will be kind of strange watching from the sideline, but you can bet I am going to be watching. According to Joe Silva my next opponent is on this card.
Heavyweight Championship bout: Junior dos Santos vs. Frank Mir
-Having fought both of these amazing athletes I am giving the edge to JDS. You cannot count out MIR. He can win against any of the top Heavyweights and adversity is his middle name. Junior is not guy that you face with a shorter camp or any shortcomings. This is going to be a great fight. You will see a bigger JDS so it remains to be seen if he is as fast and accurate as before. If I was betting at Betdsi.com I would put my money on JDS.
Heavyweight bout: Cain Velasquez vs. Antonio Silva
-I am going with the former Champion Cain. Cain is a complete fighter that is only getting better. He has shown great leg kicks in the past and I expect him to keep the fight standing and finish it in the 2nd.
Heavyweight bout: Roy Nelson vs. Dave Herman
-I really think this is a tough fight for Roy. Dave is one of those up and coming guys everyone should be looking at, especially us in the division. I pick Dave Herman.
Heavyweight bout: Stipe Miočić vs. Shane del Rosario
-What a tough fight for a comeback! Stipe is the total package and a great up and coming talent. I think he will win this fight.
Heavyweight bout: Stefan Struve vs. Lavar Johnson
-As much as i hate to do it I pick Stefan. Again we are seeing two great talents stepping into the octagon but only one can win. I like Lavar a lot and I always root for him but if I am being honest I got to go with Struve.
The good news about these picks is this, you can win a lot of money if I am wrong as the UFC 146 odds on this are crazy. If you follow my picks I am almost always wrong, so that is a bit more good news for the guys I picked against.
If you post your picks (no editing them) and get all the fights right I will send you a MMA Elite tee shirt from my new sponsor Ultimate Brand Management and MMAElite.net.
