So my wife and went to the grand opening of the new Easton BJJ grand opening in Centennial, CO. There was free food, balloonz, MMA fanz, and some very friendly instructorz who were giving away free T-shirtz. They were accomadating az my wife iz 8 monthz pregnant and we struggled to find a shirt that would accomodate.

So az we walk up we immediatley take notice of the Collosuss of a man, known az Shane Carwin, outside conversing w/ some fanz, or maybe they were friendz.(arn't they the same thing?) Eliot Marshal was close by greeting people az well. I waz a little apprehensive to just, walk right up and say hello, for fear of making a bad first impression. So we looked around the school a little, and let me tell you....it iz NICE. There were children laughing and playing on the matz and a few guyz rolling on the matz. I gathered enough courage to go back outside to introduce myself to Shane. Az we walked up to him we began to notice HOW BIG he really iz. I am 5'8" 170 ish... my wife...tiny... We introduce ourselvez, shake hiz hand.....and stare.... lol.. i felt so dumb, but for me this waz a huge moment! I have been watching EVERY video on him... studying hiz fighting habitz, watching hiz footwork, studying hiz boxing, scouring the internet for interviewz, comapring him to Cain....then Brock....now Frank (my 2nd fav fighter)....There he stood in front of us, me not knowing what to say.....or ask... my wife looking at me like "uhhh....dude...say somthing"

So i snapped out my Carwin highlight reel in my head and, remembered we had brought a couple t-shirtz to get autographed. I asked, he kindly abliged. I have a TAPOUT shirt w/ an autograph on the left shoulder so i asked Shane to sign hiz on the right... he said "SURE" in hiz deep friendly voice. az he iz signing the shirt, he askz " whoz autograph iz that?" i smiled and said " i'll tell you after you sign".... he chuckled, and signed hiz autograph. " So who iz it?" he asked... i then revealed that it waz Frank Mir'z autograph on the other shoulder! He laughed playfully....and i got out of range of striking distance (which was like 8 feet). he handz me back my Sharpee pen (with the cap off!) and proceed to stick it in my front pocket..missing several timez, thus causing several black streakz on the outside of pocketz. I would be totally lying if i were to say i wasn't a little bit starstruck, because i forgot to ask for a picture w/ him....fortunatley my wife reminded me, and again, he kindly abliged, embracing us in a giant bear hug while posing for pic. There waz like 1000 questionz i wanted to ask, but didn't want it to seem like i was trying to interview him.

Schuab showz up, and the autograph session began... Schuab, Marshall and Carwin signed autographz for many fanz. My wife and I had to leave due to having to work. It was an awesome experience nonethe-less.

So there we have it, my carwin experience. I thought this would be the place to share my story! Thank you Shane for being so nice...GO TEAM CARWIN!!
