Who do you want Shane to fight next?
Just seeing who you guys want Shane to fight next. I know he's just getting out of surgery and wont be back for a while, but when he does return he needs a good fight!
When I think of fights that will put Shane back in title contention I think of Frank Mir or Cain Valesquez. Mir is on a roll and another win over him will put him into title mix, maybe one fight after that. If he fought and beat Cain that will def put him back into the title picture.
Another fight I would like to see is Shane vs Congo. Congo just beat Pat Berry and Mitrone so that would be a good match up and help Carwin towards the title.
The bad part is Shane just lost to a pretty one sided match to Dos Santos and he holds the belt. Its hard to sale a fight that just happened like it did. So the longer Dos Santos holds the belt, the longer Carwin has to wait.
So if Shane gets a fight in 2012, beats that person in a amazing way, and Dos Santos losses to Overeem or Brock, that would DEF work and be one of the biggest fights of the year.

i'd like to see him fight cain. he could take cain. if dos santos doesnt land that punch on cain who knows where things would be. any given fight night any fighter can win. if you guys know the world of mma and not just ufc, you know that overeem is gunna beat brock so bad his hair style will be in again. overeem is world class, brock is not. Now with Mr. Carwin having this corrective surgery the sky is the limit. every good fighter that moves foward knows that they have to upgrade their skills and get rid of their flaws. the more skilled and flawless you can be the more dominant you can be. mir is probably gunna get the shot at cain and overeem will probably end up fightin dos santos, just because hes overeem. its gunna take a while for Mr Carwin to heal up properly and get in top shape. when that happens hell have to see where things sit IMO.
dos santos is a very promising, up and coming champion. jon jones like. very flawless and smart. he can be beatin. keep him close, in the corner, chin down, elbows in close, hands high, pressure-pressure-pressure, roll the punches, and counter punch all the shots that will glance off the top of your head. It worked for Joe Louis, Rocky Marciano, Joe Fraizer, George Foreman, and Mike Tyson.

I hope Shane will not be thrown onto deep water right after surgery. I expect a fight with some lower-ranked fighter (Barry? Mitrione?), not because i don't believe in Carwin, but because i think he needs a victory to completely spread his wings and make sure he's ready to fight with the best. I know he is still one of the best in the world but you can't just come out of hospital and fight for the world's biggest MMA title.

I would still love to see Roy Nelson and Carwin. Roy has said some things that I don't agree with and I want Shane to shut his mouth. But I think the UFC Can give him a number of fights being that Carwins Return Date is allowing for more fighters to get a full camp in before the possible match up. They could give him Big Country, Mir II, John-Olav Einemo, Travis Browne is a possible match up now, Kongo, Brendan Schaub, Mitrione, etc.
With Strikeforce Heavyweight Division Falling apart I would Love to see Carwin vs Cormier OH YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!

Carwin won't fight with Schaub, they're teammates. And Carwin vs. Mir II would end the same way the last time, as Minotauro showed recently.

Good call on the Schaub being teamate....I forgot all about it. I think Mir II would still be good and your right Cormier would be tough but Shane could do it. Thats my Dream matchup Carwin vs Cormier they are my two Favorite fighters.

I am a fan of Shane. I think he can win against each hw fighter; JdS is good but he has not met the real Shane Carwin, He was without his normal feelings, he was hernieted.
In write in a italian forum and they said that against Lesnar was a question of cardio & lactato, and I told them 'No, is a neuromotor problem'. And that was. I had understood immediately that was this kind of problem: a compression of a nerve, that causes no sensation no movement no strenght.
I hope Shane could be back great as he was and much more. I had similar problems, and I am feeling good.

Shane needs to take however long it takes to heal up. Then put in a proper training camp so he is finally one hundred percent ready. Shane Carwin vs Travis Browne is bout to happen after.

Shane! I am sure you can win the belt. After this match Overeem Lesnar, I am sure You can.
But You need a good rehab and a first match not so difficult.
