Shane you are a classy guy, and you were the first to speak on Brocks behalf when he was ill, but all of the comments you have made about your strong dislike for Lesnar and praise for a guy like Mir is pretty unfair.
I'm not sure if you're keeping up with the news, but Frank Mir just actually said that he wishes death on Brock and hopes that he is the first octagon related death and that he personally wants to break Brocks neck. Google it, it's all over the place.
This is about a thousand times worse than anything Brock has ever said.
I simply cant get my head around the fact that fighters seem to have this pact to bash on Brock and act like they honor the sport, while he is some devil because he came from the WWE and had it a little easier. This is a business and he took advantage of an opportunity like anyone else would and made the best of it.
I've met Brock in real life and he is a humble, down to earth guy who puts his heart and sould into training to be the best as I'm sure you do.
I respected you quite a bit when you came out and openly questioned Fedor for not signing with the UFC, but after the criticism you have come under from the manical Fedor fans, you seem to be pointing out that Fedor is still the best. Fedor used to be the best when he was proving it, but being the best is something you have to keep on proving. The reality is Fedor's best two wins were against Nog and Crocop, neither of which have fared well at all since coming to the UFC. To call him the best at this point is an insult to all of the guys like yourself who are putting yourselves up against the best competition possible in the UFC. In the recent USA today rankings, 5 of the top 6 HWs are currently in the UFC, the only guy missing is Fedor. That should tell you something.
edited: Sorry Shane I just read your statement on Mirs comments as posted below and once again you prove to be a stand up guy.
Shane:
I did not see the interview so I can't comment on what he might have said. But I can tell you that any athlete wishing death upon a competitor is either a terrible human being or mentally unfit to fight. That type of talk and if it ever happened will take this sport backwards. Frank has been a part of the stone ages of MMA and it makes no sense why he would want or make comments that might damage a lot of the good he has participated in adding to this sport over the years.”
Brock is a bad man in the ring but at home he is a human, husband, father and a friend to many. Wishing death or harm upon him doesn't serve any purpose. I will do my best to make Frank's dream of fighting Brock come true, unfortunately for them it will be a three round fight as I plan on winning both of those belts.
