Frank Mir is a bad person and I hope you destroy him Shane
First of all, I really wanted to see you beat Brock Shane. I think your classiest guy in the division and I was pulling for you.
Mir has obviously taken this opportunity of Brock being sick, and is opening a big mouth once again to weasel his way into getting a title shot again long before he deserves one. He's trying to manipulate the situation.
People like to slam Brock for his words after UFC 100, but if anybody's been paying any attention to Mir whatsoever. He's ten times worse than Brock will ever be.
1. Kongo is one of the classiest guys around yet Mir saw fit to degrade him badly before their fight, to the point where he was MAKING FUN OF HIM for the fact that he couldn't speak english well.
2. Mir's relentless attacks on Brock Lesnar and continued obsession through his time of sickness has been completely tasteless and disgusting, the complete opposite from the class you have shown Shane.

"If I had to fight Brock, the first thing I'm looking for is, 'Well, I'm gonna kick him in the gut or whenever I get an opportunity to knee him in the stomach,'" said Mir. "Obviously, that's gonna be an area you're gonna go for."
and another comment Mir made when he was actually chuckling about the fact that Brock could come back at 245.
Whether or not Mir is right, his comments during this time or completely tasteless.
I really believe that Mir thinks he is going to walk right through you Shane. He has had some kind words to say about you but in reality he thinks you're going to be an easy fight for him, and he is building you up simply so he can boast of his own greatness after (he thinks) he beats you (which he will not).
In short, Mir is complete a tool.
I can't wait for you to put a h*** through his face Shane.

He also seems to have some "interesting" views on firearms (search on Youtube). Whenever I hear Mir talk he comes across as a nerdy kid who was bullied at school and feels the urge to prove he can beat the bully. He tries to mask it well but he can't. I don't like either him or Brock to be honest. People like Shane/Randy/GSP/Fedor/Tim Sylvia (see post Fedor interview) are what this sport is about, win or lose showing nothing but class.
Mir does make a point though acting up seems to get u more attention. Why did Lesnar get his title shot so early? Because he acts up. Its the same reason people on Youtube rave constantly about Brock being an unstoppable monster yet Shane gets so little recognition. I have had many arguments with people who for some reason think Brock would be favourite to beat Fedor.
This isn't just the case in Martial arts boxing has been like it for years. Compare David Tua to Mike Tyson. I would always of picked Tua to beat him but I bet the majority who read this will think, who?????
So yeah Mir is a prat as is Brock, but it will be good for their careers.

Mir's not a bad guy he's just confident in his skills.
With regards to the Kongo thing Mir had a lot to lose and nothing to gain by beating him.
The fight was put on because there was a lack of talent to put up against Mir after the defeat by Lesnar.
So what was Mir's option? He had to go out and let everyone know that Kongo wasn't in the same league as Mir/Carwin/Nog/Velasquez and decimate him. As we all saw this came to be - if you see any of the interviews where Shane is mentioned by Mir he's always praising Shane's skillset and abilities as a mixed martial artist.
Just because he's not backward in telling you what he thinks of his opponent doesn't mean he's an a******.
I for one like Frank Mir and can't wait for Shane to face him as 2 elite top 5 competitors.

You know what bugs the s*** outta me? Frank Mir will not say that anyone "has" great jiu jitsu, etc. He will say "He gots great jiu jitsu". Gots? Really? KILL HIM SHANE!! LoL WAR CARWIN!!

I really wouldn't knock Mir for using the publicity he has basically been "gifted" because of Lesnar's illness and his new shot at the interim belt. What else would he do? Especially after the resounding loss to Lesnar, he's got to keep people thinking about him.
That all being said... Shane will take Frank apart. No question in my mind at all. When, and if (I'm still not convinced we have the whole story on Lesnar's illness type or outcome), Lesnar finally makes it back, Shane will soundly show the MMA world why he is a pure champion, class act and claim his title.

i like and respect Frank... he haz been one of my favorite fighterz for a long, long time. Yes he seemz a bit cocky, but hey......he IZ top 5 HW fighter in the world. All of the talk before hand iz all hype... to get people excited to watch the fight, more PPV buyz, more tix sold etc etc. meanz a bigger pay-check for both fighterz. what'z important iz this. CARWIN vs MIR two of the best HW'z in the world are fighting!! I believe, the two men to be respected...respcectable and are both great competetorz. It'z gonna be fireworkz baby!! I'm rooting for Carwin... let'z go Shane!! Keep the elbowz IN....
