Brock Lesnar
So basically I am just wanting to hear from other people what they think about Brock? I am getting sick of hearing so many people give him praises when he hasn't done anything to convince me he deserves it.
Take a look at his fight record. His first win is over Min Soo Kim, who is only famous for losing to Brock. His second fight he lost to Mir, and in his third fight he beat Herring by laying on him for 15 mins. I don't buy that he was dominant in either of those fights either because most of his offense was not very effective. Mir didn't look to have any real damage done to him, and aside from the big punch Brock hit in round one with Herring it didn't look like he was very effective that fight either.
Now I'm not trying to say that Lesnar is a bad fighter, or that he has no potential, he has all the potential in the world with his size, strength and speed for a heavy weight, but he is in the same boat as Velasquez as they are too green. Both fighters are good at controlling on the ground but one of the announcers at UFC 99 (can't remember which one) put it into very good terms. Velasquez throws a lot of attacks from the ground but it doesn't do a lot of damage. Lesnar has the same problem. Where as someone like Carwin picks his shots, makes them count, and you can "feel them from the announce table." And on Brock's standup, he has and incredible 80" reach, but watch one of his fights and look at how he throws punches. He stands very close and doesn't take any advantage of his reach in any way.
Yes I do realize that Brock has beaten Couture, but some day somebody has got to admit that he is 45 years old and that may have been the biggest factor in why he lost. Yes, Brock is really big. Yes, Brock is fast for a heavy weight. Yes, Brock is a fantastic wrestler. But somebody take a look real close at his skills and tell me he is going to keep that belt and all the hype when you have people like Frank Mir with far superior striking and grappling skills, and people like Shane Carwin who match up in the wrestling and strength departments that Brock won't be able to hold down or control.
I would love to hear other people's opinions on the topic and if you agree/disagree with anything I've said.

I always bet on the underdog, the payout is way better! Put $20 against Anderson Silva, ok so I've lost money so far but he always has the HUGE advantage so when he finally does lose, the payout will be equally huge. Remember when Matt Serra got the K/O over GSP?

I understand what you are saying but you aren't coming out on top everytime the underdog wins. -300 or -400 favorites are basically stone cold locks anything above that is like if a midget fought The Hulk, The Hulk would probably be about -1000 or -1500. It's not a good idea to bet the midget in that senario. I usually bet twice as much as I think is comfortable to bet for my budget when betting a big favorite, I like to win.

If I don't get my posts deleted off I will tell you my opinion. Brock is a guy that is lawyered up and is taking the proverbal "Boxer's FALL" by faking that he is sick. He is taking bribes to to ensure that the Strike force M1 heavyweight fight is successful and In doing so has screwed all of the MMA fans and fighters. He should have never been allowed to become a paper champion in the first place. The UFC was greedy and thought that they could make huge money utilizing Brock's perceived wrestling notoriety. What infact happened was that this plan backfired and as a result three UFC promotional events have been cancealed and the fighters are left wondering if there will ever be another UFC fight night. For some reason the purveyors of these MMA sites have started deleting any of my posts that have anything to do with this issue. I thought that there was such a thing as "free speech"????? There can be no other reason for this except that these forums are as well all in the business of deceiving the fans so as to best fleece them of their hard earned money. Thus I am contemplating whether I will be posting any more of my thoughts on any of these sites period. The fact that these sites are censuring the posts of the users is anti--american to say the least and otherwise is against the Constitution of this country. Yes, Brock Lesner and his wrestling attorneys screwing over the UFC and its fans is terrible. All the more for this information to become common knowledge to the fan rather than covering it up as these websites are attempting to do.

Shane iz top of the food chain here...i don't forsee anyone but lesnar being a formidable opponent at this time...not Nog, Mir Couture or Cain.....it'z too bad lesnar iz "sick" but at least when carwin and lesnar do fight....they will both be at the top of thier game and be healthy...it'z a good thing Shane kept hiz job az an engineer. because if he waz waiting on the lesnar fight for a paycheck, he'd be waiting for a long, long time!

I will be willing to bet that Lesner will be feeling better now that the Strikeforce/M1 promotion is over. I still can't understand how a Roger Federer ( No. 1 Men's tennis champion) was able to defend his number one men's professional tennis ranking while being sick with the same thing that Lesner is saying that he is suffering from. I thought that Lesner was this big bad thing that could take on the greatest. It would not surprise me one bit to hear that Lesner was going to fight either Titties or Kimbo as a warm up before he will fight Shane Carwin. Shane is one of my favorite fighters and I hope that one day he will get his chance to match up against Lesner. But at this time it would not surprise me to see Lesner back out of his contract with the UFC some how. I mean realistically how many more promotions will this guy foul up before someone pulls the plug on this nobody? The medical books say that most people can walk around and not even know that they have mononecluesis. Two weeks is about the max that the books say that one can suffer from any symtoms from it.. But all of you Brock Lesner fans don't take my word on it ,, look it up for yourselves.

Looks like main event at 108 is sealed and it'll be Nog vs Velasquez.
Not sure about the interim belt but I would say it would definitely be for number 1 contender after the war between Carwin & Lesnar.

I just wanted to say, what a great fight. Broc lost a little bit of that untouchable-ness in my eyes but he did win the fight. I have mad respect for Shane, you have some heavy hands broseph and I just knew you were about to finish the fight in the first round. Boy was a I relieved when you gassed. That's the only reason you lost. You started better faster stronger and more accurate with those devestating blows but it's not how you start it's how you finish. An amazing PPV event all around.

I have more respect for Brock now, mostly because he finished the fight by submission and he actually showed respect for Shane after the fight. I just hope everybody calms down now about who's the greatest fighter in the world. Lesnar got the s*** knocked out of him in that first round but still came up with the title. I hope people can see now that Lesnar is not an MMA god, but I will say at the moment he's the best (you don't have to like somebody to respect them as a competitor)

Brock is just a cash cow. That's why ref didn't call the obvious stoppage at 116. He could evolve into a great fighter but he shouldn't still be holding the title. He was defeated in the first round at least 3 times at 116.
